It is necessary to be very cautious as you walk on the streets of this city. Vehicles come at you from all directions and many are the unfortunate souls who have lost their lives under their wheels. The constant call of horse carriage drivers going “Pais pais” and “Side Side” can send you crazy. It is fortunate that they have lanterns on both sides after nightfall; otherwise pedestrians would have been hard put to walk these streets. The little alleyways are unlit, making them a haven for crooks and a curse for citizens.
